Denise Utz

Denise began her ballet training in Ballarat, Victoria from age 8, completing all levels up to Advanced 2 in the International Cecchetti Method. She was fortunate to study with the eminent teacher and examiner Athol Willoughby OAM who was a student of Madam Lucy Saranova, herself a pupil of Maestro Enrico Cecchetti, after whom this teaching method was devised. At age 14, Denise was awarded a ballet scholarship by Madam Saranova to continue her studies. She also added Jazz and Spanish dancing to her repertoire.

Whilst completing her Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education, Denise, under Mr Willoughby’s tutelage gained her Associate teaching qualification in the Cecchetti Menthod and opened her first school on the Gold Coast. After marriage and a family, Denise moved to Sydney and gained her Associate Diploma Certificate IV opening the current School in 1993.

Denise has also choreographed for several Musicals for High Schools and Musical Societies including Mame, The Boyfriend, Sound of Music and The Fantastiks.


Annabel Utz

Annabel has trained in all styles of dance since 5 years of age. She completed all Cecchetti Ballet exams up to and including Advanced 2 with honours. In 2003, she was awarded the Big Brother Movement’s Classical Ballet Scholarship of $6000 to travel to the UK to further her dancing. In 2004, she gained her Associate teaching qualification with Cecchetti Ballet Australia, and Associate Diploma Certificate IV following that. In 2013, she successfully was awarded the Licentiate qualification.

Following completion of the HSC Dance course, Annabel received an invitation to perform her Major Performance piece at Callback at the Sydney Opera House.

Annabel has also received awards for her choreography from a young age and continues to choreograph successful solo and troupe routines for competitions including a winning lyrical solo routine at Sydney Eisteddfod.


Kaela Scott

Kaela began her dance training in Goulburn at the age of 2 before travelling to Sydney to attend classes at the McDonald College and Brent Street. At age seventeen, Kaela established her first performing arts school in Goulburn and then a secondary studio in Crookwell. After 6 years she closed her school and travelled the world working as a dancer and model at the following places:

Disneyland Park (L.A)- Character work, Dancer, Singer), Universal Studios (Dancer, performer) Movie world (Dancer, Performer), Kelly Rowland SYTYCD (Dancer), Opening Ceremony 2000 Olympics (Dancer), Corporate events and charity fundraisers (Dancer), Miss World Australia (Choreographer), Miss Galaxy international (Choreographer), Miss Global friendship (choreographer)  Victoria Beckham Fashion show (Choreographer), South Africa World cup 2010 (Choreographer), Raiderettes (NRL Cheerleading) . Kaela also won Miss Australia on three occasions and represented Australia in well known beauty pageants and is still heavily involved in the Miss World Australia Pageant.

Kaela also developed her own program called Confi-dance and has a book in the works.

Her qualifications include: BA Dance and Physical Ed , Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management- Classical, Jazz, Tap (ADV/ADi),Level 5 Gymnastics coach (Gymnastics Australia), Cheerleading Coach (Gymnastics Australia), American Trained cheerleading stunts coach, Cert IV Dance  (Brent St), Cert in Ballet teaching Studies (RAD), Completely trained ‘Acrobatic arts’ coach, Progressing Ballet Technique coach, NLP Master trainer, Cert III & IV in fitness, Cert IV in personal training , Cert III Nutrition.

Kaela loves to use her knowledge of psychology and Coaching to bring out the best in each dancer. 


Anna Harutyunyan

Diploma of Classical Ballet in the Vaganova Syllabus from the Yerevan Choreographic Arts College, Armenia. Professional dancer with the Spendiarov Theatre of Opera & Ballet dancing many leading roles including: Giselle, Clara & the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker), Kitri (Don Quixote) & Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). Ballet Teacher


Blake Wye-Jones

Blake started dancing at the age of 12 training in the styles of Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Musical Theatre. In high school, He fell in love with Hip Hop and has since taken part in extensive training in hip hop and its umbrella styles. Blake has trained with some of Sydney’s top dance crews including Zealous, Pioneers, The Localz and more! He’s also taken part in some prestigious development programs such as the One I’ll project, Composed, NXTGEN, etc. with these opportunities he has been blessed to learn from the likes of Jervis Livelo, The O’Neill twins, Taimania foai and Fetu Taku, Eliam royalness and many many more! 

He is backed by 6 years of teaching where his choreography has been performed across Australia and America. In 2016, he founded and mentored the dance crew ‘Limitless’ that has gone on to win state and national titles at AASCF competitions. 

With the help of different teams and crews, Blake has competed and placed in competitions such as Hip Hop International, Battlegrounds, Short and Sharp and AASCF to name a few. Most recently Blake has achieved national Gold and International silver placements under Pioneers dance crew at Battlegrounds. 

Aside from his various Hip Hop ventures, Blake has also taken part in the Black Sapphire cabaret show, as well as a notable amount of corporate gigs for ‘Sydney Roosters’, ‘Redbull’s Sissy Ball’ for Mardi Gras, among others. He recently signed on with Birdie corporate to explore this avenue further.

Currently Blake is studying his Cert IV in Dance teaching and Management through the ATOD with expected completion in 2021. He is consistently on the look out for new opportunities to expand his knowledge in order to keep his lessons fresh and exciting. His teaching style is very growth based! Often, Blake focuses on a mixture of knowledge and skill to create confident performers.


Brooke Losco

Dance has been Brooke’s passion from the age of 9. She is trained in Classical Ballet, Modern, Contemporary and Jazz. She has been fortunate to be taught by outstanding teachers and role models who have passed on their life long love of this art form. A highlight for her was attending Newtown Performing Arts High School. On a daily basis she was able to work with industry professionals both domestically and internationally who conducted master classes in a range of styles. She was honoured to rank in the top performance band for her HSC Dance and receive three callbacks from the NSW Department of Education for her major, core and composition performances. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Management at the University of Technology.


Ellen Parker

Ellen began dancing with Denise Utz at age 4 and has completed all her Cecchetti Ballet Exams, including Advanced 2. In 2012, she auditioned and was accepted into the Australian Ballet Interstate Training Program, travelling to Melbourne for the next three years to participate in intensive classes. Ellen has successfully participated in many ballet programs and competitions, as a soloist and as a member of troupes. In both 2016 and 2018 she was awarded the the Ballet Majors award at Denise Utz School of Dance. She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Sydney. In mid 2019 Ellen ventured to New York to participate in the Stella Adler Studio of Acting Summer Conservatory.


Debbie Keenan

Debbie is an accomplished dancer with a passion for watching her students grow. She loves teaching her students the ability to express emotion through dance and has so much to share.

Studying full-time dance at The Space Dance and Arts Centre, Debbie has had a colourful career filled with international travel and Australian highlights. She has performed with Lion Heart Dance Company, featured in several music videos and has choreographed full productions in Melbourne. Teaching a variety of styles since the age
of 14, Debbie specialises in Jazz, contemporary, lyrical and hip hop, having taught at various schools throughout Melbourne as well as travelling to India & Germany to teach on an international scale. Our students can expect classes full of fun and hard work with Debbie. Inspiring her students to be the best they can be and watching them improve is her goal.


Lucy Noble

Lucy began dancing with Denise Utz at the age of 3. She has since completed all Cecchetti ballet exams up to Advanced 1 and is currently working towards Advanced 2. At Denise Utz School of Dance, Lucy has participated in Eisteddfod troupes and solo competitions. From this she has developed a true love of Classical Ballet of which she is passionate about passing on. Highlights for Lucy include acceptance into the Australian Ballet School’s ‘Interstate Training Program’ where she was given the opportunity to take intensive classes with world renowned teachers. Lucy has recently completed Year 12, receiving a band 6 in Dance and acceptance into Callback 2020 for her performance component. This year Lucy will begin her first year studying a Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Technology Sydney.


Demi McFarlane

Demi has been performing since she was 3 years old – training in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, tap, JFH, classical voice and acting. In 2017 Demi graduated from ED5 International with an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts.
Demi lived Macau, China during 2018 and 2019 where she was performing for the Sands Resorts Macau. She performed the lead host role in The Little Big Club All Stars show, as well as performing at The Londoner Launch Press Conference, Papinee for St Regis, the Sands 15th Anniversary, Mercato at Bene Macau and was a resident dancer at The Parisian Macau. Demi performed in ‘Carol Claus’ and ‘Christmas Wishes’ NSW tours in 2019 and she has also performed at the Arnott’s Gala Ball with Tim Campbell, the Cara House Ball and the Foundation Ball in 2017. She played Estella in West Side Story for Packemin Productions and during her time at ED5 International performed in Fosse (Sally Bowles), Heathers (Betty Finn) and A Chorus Line (Diana Morales). Demi is very passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the performing arts with her students.

Nandini Dhir

Nandini started ballet at the age of 3 and has completed her Cecchetti Ballet exams up to Advanced 1, and is currently working on Advanced 2. In 2012, she joined the Australian Ballet Interstate Training Program and participated in intensive classes for the following 5 years, including Level 4 Invitees. A memorable experience in ballet was Nandini’s child role with the Australian Ballet’s production of La Bayadere at the Sydney Opera House in 2014. With Denise Utz School of Dance, she has taken part in Eisteddfod troupes and Cecchetti Scholars classes. In 2018 she performed in a dance ensemble for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their visit to her high school. Nandini is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Marketing) and a Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Media and Communication) as a Dalyell Scholar at the University of Sydney.
